- Hi!
-
- I am currently installing PC-Eudora (FreeWare version) in an environment
- with PCs and IBM RS-6000 (with AIX operating system). The e-mail works fine (I
- hardly can't imagine what the "good" version can add, but I will recommend its
- adquisition).
-
- My only problem is the poppass server (that is running on AIX). The
- documentation says that it is possible to run it in AIX systems, but I am
- unable to do it. All seems to be good until the server forks a process to
- run /bin/passwd. When it comes here, it hangs and Eudora gets no reply
- (actually, if you telnet the server port, you also get no response at this
- point).
-
- Could someone give me some information about installing the server
- on AIX?. A modified font would be terrific, but I will be very grateful with
- any other information.
-
- (Thanks you)

- I dont want to spread rumours but I have tried to resolve this internally,
- with no avail. The stack seems to run rather well, and maybe it is my
- perception but I could swear tcp/ip apps run faster....
- The problem is that evertime I try to access the FTP service (only for
- incoming requests to an FTP server -- WinQVT inparticular) the machine either
- reboots or locks up (ctrl-alt-del would do it, you need to reboot).
- I had the same problem with sending mail using the POP3 protocol to a server.
-
- Like I said, I dont want to spread fear--the problem may be my machines
- config. Regardless, I have submitted a bug report.
-
- Give it a try though, when I start win I am something like 600K free (conv
- mem), and that is with a SCSI driver, a cdrom driver, msdlc, and smartdrv all
- loaded in!!!

-
- Dear readers,
-
- I'm currently preparing an article in the german computer mgazine
- CHIP about services on the Internet. I would like to know how you get
- your Internet-feed if you are not based in an university. I would be
- very intersted to hear about commercial service providers,
- esspecially for european based people, including an overview about
- the costs involved through that service.
-
- Since I don't read this list regulary, please e-mail me directly.
-
- If you work in a company that provides such a service I would be very
- glad to get in touch with your company.
-
- Thanks in advance

- FTP to FTP.FTP.COM and change to the the /support/pubdom directory. You
- should find the files DOG.EXE and DOGFONT.FON. Dogfight requires at least a
- 386 with a 387 math co-processor, but we recommend that you not run it on
- anything less than a 486/33.
